1986

The birth of an industry

Our company founders saw a need for HR outsourcing among small and midsize businesses and helped blaze the trail for this new industry. The company was founded as Administaff – later to be rebranded as Insperity.

1993

Texas Staff Leasing Act takes effect

After years of effort by Administaff executives to set standards for the industry, the Texas Legislature approved a regulatory framework for professional employer organizations (PEOs). Other states followed due to the efforts and perseverance of Administaff and others in the industry.

1997

Administaff goes public

Administaff joined the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol ASF.

2011

Administaff rebrands to Insperity

In honor of the company’s 25th anniversary, Administaff announced a rebranding to Insperity to highlight the things we aspire to provide our clients every day: inspiration and prosperity.

2017

Insperity becomes a CPEO

Insperity’s government affairs team spent decades leading the effort to pass a federal law recognizing the PEO industry and a PEO’s relationship with its customers for the purpose of withholding and remittance of payroll taxes on behalf of its client companies. In 2014, those efforts were realized and signed into law. Insperity was among the first to receive the certified professional employer organization certification from the IRS in July 2017.

2020

Insperity responds to COVID-19

Even amid changes impacting our own team, Insperity rallied to provide unprecedented levels of support to help businesses respond to changing HR-related legislation, obtain the necessary payroll information to support their PPP loan applications and manage complex employee relations during challenging times. Our clients received 3x the number of PPP payouts in the first round compared to the national average.

2024

Insperity forms strategic partnership with Workday

To meet the rapidly changing HR needs of high-growth businesses, Insperity and Workday, a leader in enterprise cloud applications for finance and human resources, joined together to develop a joint solution that combines Workday’s best-in-class technology platform and Insperity’s unmatched service experience.
