You’re doing something right when you’re selected as one of your city’s “best places to work.” KGBTexas San Antonio, recently honored as such, does it with an attitude of “We deliver brand new ides to our clients each and every day to help connect their message to their markets.” It has also helped the company become the number one marketing communications agency in the area. Katie Harvey, president and CEO, adds that good people and brainpower are her agency’s competitive edge. “We are strategists. We know how to make marketing communications impact a company’s bottom line, and we are fanatics about client service. This has resulted in long-term relationships with our clients. That’s something you don’t see every day in our business.”

The Challenge

KGBTexas is run on financially sound, solid principles, and its employees are young, cutting-edge thinkers, led by Harvey, who opened the agency 13 years ago at age 24. “We’re only as good as the brainpower we have in here, and I’d put them up against anyone,” Harvey says. Recruiting and retaining the very best talent with that kind of brainpower is the key to KGBTexas’ long-standing success, and it’s critical in the highly competitive advertising/public relations field.

The Solution

When a long-time office manager at KGBTexas San Antonio decided to slow her pace and leave the agency, she suggested Insperity, which Harvey saw as a positive. “It always bothered me to have all of the responsibility of compliance and reporting administrative issues resting on one person’s shoulders.” Health care cost containment was also a huge issue to the agency.

The Value

With Insperity, Harvey hasn’t had to worry about either the employee benefits her employees receive or the filing and reporting headaches many small business owners grapple with. “The health care is obviously beneficial to everyone here, plus we have access to so many HR tools that have been beneficial to everyone in the company.”

The Return on Investment

Harvey considers the greatest benefit of her agency’s relationship with Insperity to be “a restful night’s sleep!” She further says that other business owners need to understand that “if you’re looking for the cheapest business performance solutions, you don’t need Insperity. If you’re looking for the best, however, and for someone to truly make an impact on your business, use Insperity.” She goes on to emphasize that as important as reporting and compliance issues are, “I didn’t want the cheapest company responsible for it. I am a believer in investing in my employees, why wouldn’t I do the same with my business partnership?”
