Employment regulations are in place to ensure that employees are treated fairly and aren’t endangered by their job or their workplace. According to its website, the United States Department of Labor enforces more than 180 federal laws. In addition, each state has its own set of regulations that your business is required to follow. There are three times as many national employee-related laws today as there were 30 years ago.

As an employer, failure to comply with employment regulations can result in heading to court, and jeopardizing the very existence of your business.

So, how do you know which employment regulations to keep track of and how is it possible to make sure you’re keeping up with the feds?

These are important questions for concerned business owners today, whether the business is located in only one state or several states. Remember, each state has its own set of employment regulations in addition to all the federal employment regulations. Keeping up with the feds is an extremely confusing and complex business need.

Is there a solution? The answer to this question is simple: Yes, there is.

To protect against non-compliance with all the employment laws and regulations, many successful business owners have decided to pass this burden and responsibility on to an outside consultant or vendor, such as a Professional Employment Organization (PEO). As a PEO client, you will have a dedicated team of business and human resources professionals with extensive knowledge of government regulations pertaining to employee issues available to you. Their job is to stay up to date with all federal and state employment regulations to safeguard your company from potential employee lawsuits and other employment-related liabilities.

In today’s corporate environment, employee complaints often lead to employee lawsuits, leaving businesses vulnerable to sizeable penalties, fines and even potential financial ruin. Protect your business by learning more about how Insperity’s PEO solutions can relieve you from challenges and complexities of complying with the myriad of complex employment regulations.
